You paint your ceiling first

You paint the ceiling (first coat) first not worrying about cutting it in properly. Then you do the walls (first coat) Again not worrying too much about the ceiling unless the walls are not a pale colour. So on until the final coat - again ceiling first and again don't worry about the walls. Final coat on the walls taking care not to splash the ceiling if using a roller and cutting in properly at the top. Use a larger brush for the lengths rather than a small one, your lines will be straighter.
