You write a formal letter of objection stressing the overlooking and proximity issues. Without knowing the area or detailed circumstances it is difficult to say what the outcome will be.

Surely firstly you would talk to your neighbour about your concerns?? It's a shame they didn't come and chat to you before the application went in. Far better to come to a compromise before it all goes to neighbours from hell material.
