I take back what I have said in the past. Been on the phone for over an hour trying to get them to follow up on a problem I reported earlier in the week. I can send sms text messages on my landline but incoming are only being received via voice delivery. Had this problem in the past and it has always been resolved within a day or two. Not this time. They insisted on send out an Openreach engineer to test the line which needless to say was OK. He then went off to change equipment in the xchange. After that 2 txts were received succesfully but then reverted back to same fault. Engineer said to pass back thro provider if problem persisted. And here I am 90 mins and counting on phone just trying to get them to report problem back to openreach. Doh. Formal complaint being raised as precursor to going to Ofcom.

Do you have a text-compatible phone?
I suspect this is a user-configureable option. I remember disabling it on my phone (can't remember how) because I never want to be disturbed by SMS, and it (I think) tells the sender that the recipient's phone cannot receive SMS.
He pops in (to u.t.b or p.s.c-f) on an infrequent basis, which is still appreciated.
Pretty sure the last time this came up the answer was that plusnet don't support this.

This is what happens when different bits of a company are involved, none of whom understand the interrelated problems.
