Use SamatraPDF, press 'i' to invert colours, I assume that option applies to printing as well as viewing ...

Anyhow I managed to connect!

Forget infotainment and references in the instructions to a 'phone, you just need a tablet with Bluetooth and WiFi. Did a firmware update then connected with the app. Searched through carefully and found what I thought was my first journey. Turned out to be the hand over session when the sales lady went through all the controls with me, excellent half hour video of the dealer's courtyard!

I am going to find instructions on how to extract the SDC card...

I now have LOTS of mp4 files. They seem to end FH.mp4, FL.mp4, RH.mp4 and LH.mp4, Front/Rear Low/High I think. Poor little dashcam must be busy saving (or converting) 4 different streams.

Anybody recommend an app to join them into 1 x mp4? MP4Joiner fails, LosslessCut-win-x64 doesn't recognise the format and although vlc can join them the online instructions are vague and it re-renders them so I will lose some quality.

Are you talking about putting the FH frame above the FL frame ? Changing the dimension of the image ?

Or just sequentially joining all those together.

There is GSpot and MediaInfo for video identification, and I don't know if any additional ones have been written. GSpot is ancient and not good for new content.

While you can run ffprobe to identify the streams inside a video, I don't know if that allows any fancy identifications of "high profile" or the like.

Linux has the file command. This labeling isn't particularly helpful.

To do it with FFMPEG, Googling them is more likely to work, than the manual :-)

There aren't that many, I have tried the 2 highly recommended one with no success so far, I was hoping for a personal recommendation :-)

It's high/low resolution, it seems to save both.

I am a Windows user, I do revert to the command line occasionally but don't enjoy it, I just want to chuck a heap of files at something and have it join them together while maintaining quality.

Command line, but ffmpeg.
