OT Windows 10/Edge issue

Just a thought that as there are some computer experts on here they might be able to help.

I am running W10 and when using the edge browser the register between the cursor position and the left hand mouse button is out.

In other words to get a link to work the cursor on the screen has to be about 1 inch above the link for the left button to activate the link.

Works fine in all other programs (eg Firefox chrome IE) so I assume that it is something to do with edge so I am not that bothered, but if anyone does know a quick fix (other than install Linux Mint - that is already on the other machine) it might be worth a try.

Thanks for the tip. I looked in the forums and found others with the same problem (but no solution). Looks like I will just have to leave edge alone until they sort it out.

Well at least you know that it is a 'known problem'. I have not bothered much with edge myself.

This is a well known problem already. Indeed the blind find that there is no accessibility API in Edge at all as yet, so it cannot be used. I understand some control panel applets use Edge, dopoes the same thing happen there? Most people I know have rolled their computers back till msoft fix all the strange things. I guess once again this makes us realise how true is the phrase, you get what you pay for, and as its free.... Brian

The blind can't see the targeted ads being pushed at them as a result of Windows 10's personal data slurping, which means there's no money in it for Microsoft or the ad-flingers, so they couldn't give a toss about you, hence the lack of accessibility features.

Cynical, but that's the way it is. With Windows 10, YOU are the product.

Update graphics drivers.

Having used W10 on quite a number of computers, and Edge on most of them, I have not experienced the issue you report. However I have come across the need to update graphics drivers on a lot of computers that have been upgraded to W10.

When I upgraded W7 to W10 on my Dell Vostro laptop it was just left with the regular MS driver, and poor resolution. Device manager found a better driver.

Some machines have looked not so good at first boot into W10, but improved either a few minutes later, or after next boot. Something like that certainly happened on my current personal W10 machine. It is a slightly-old MacBook Pro.

Dell site might also help - if the machine is classed as supporting W10.

I was not impressed by Dell's lack of help when I upgraded to W8!

I find it incredibly confusing unless you are lucky and their automatic processes happen to work. Regularly try to decide whether I hate HP's support site more than Dell's, or the other way around.
