Agreed bloody stupid!..

There are many Full HD 32 inch TV's on Richer sounds, but are outnumbered by the number of HD-ready sets of the same size.

On the other hand I'm around 5ft away from a 55 inch TV and I find that very acceptable.

There are other factors such as flat screen quality (not all screen technologies are the same), refresh rates, backlight quality and functionality, number of displayable colours, inbuilt image processing etc.

How many TVs are not set up correctly but have over saturated colours and over contrast pictures.

I also have a cheap bedroom TV of around 32 inches and the comparison between this and my main TV is like chalk and cheese.

Slightly off topic, but related...

I'm more concerned about the increasing number of made-for-TV programmes made in aspect ratios greater than 16:9 - 17 or even 18 in some cases. This of course results in big black stripes at the top and bottom of the screen, and the bigger the screen, the bigger the stripes.

I haven't noticed entire programmes made that way, but certainly some pieces within them (e.g. an item on Top Gear that the director has decided need to be "more dramatic".

WTF are you doing buying TV in Morrisons? Only good for Mackerel last time I was in one

I'm not buying a TV in Morrisons. They've got them on special offer as I expect they bought a load cheap.

Well there ya go.

Get what you pay for Just google '32" 4k TV'. They are like fleas on a dosser.

Argos does one at £119

And that's why Morrisons are flogging off cheap s*it. No-one wants 'em

Snob. Perfectly acceptable for the kitchen or the young kids room.

How do you read the text on the TV guide though ?.

I have a 43" Sony TV but the freeview guide is on the limit of easy reading for me sitting about 8 feet away so I prefer to use the freeview guide on my ancient Humax HD FOX-T2 stb because it has a nicer font.

Are they good for anything after being bought with mega-debt which has been reflected in the higher prices ?.

Might in some small way explain their 'fresh' bread. I was in the other day, bought some in-store baked granary rolls. BBE date varied between use on the day to another 2 days later. I'm sure it used to be BBE on the day only.

It's just about OK, my long sight is fine but don't ask me to change a plug!

It wasn't me who was upset by the lack of full HD/4k whatever. FULL HD is good enough for me. (1920x1080?)

I recommend these...

I can even solder 0.1" pitch pins with those

Thanks :-)

I have some magnifying spectacles that you are supposed to wear over your readings specs but they aren't that easy to wear.

Watch "Shetland" BBC1 9 pm this evening. Or "Cooper & Fry", C5 on Tuesday.

Much worse examples are available

Whoa. A TV manufacturer giving figures that push buying a bigger more expensive TV - now there's a thing!

I have one, arrived an hour ago!

Works well but its suggestion that you can just pull one set of lenses off to swap it is a bit optimistic. I had to push the pins out with a knife.

Does it ease with use?
