OT:MP4 oddity

I know there's some experts here ...

Have some paid-for downloaded MP4 podcasts (Richard Herring).

They play beautifully on my PC. They also play beautifully on my TV through my Cyclone media player.

Except for some reason, on the media player, *some* podcasts lose the sound about halfway through. Jumping around doesn't help ... going back you get the sound again, but after the same point, you lose it.

I don't really care what the issue is atm ... is there a sort of "recode" program, where I can load the file, and save it out correcting whatever is upsetting the media player ?

I wouldn't need to ask if I could get miracast working between TV and tablet, but that's another day ;)

Are you using Windows? If so you could try HandBrake - don't know if it will do MP4 > MP4 without an intermediate file type change - or WinX Free MP4 to AVI Converter then HandBrake back to MP4 - they're both my favourite price - free! :)

Cheers. They don't *have* to be MP4s. The media player can happily manage AVIs, so I guess an MP4->AVI is an idea.

Missed the beginning of this thread but on the Sumvision media player I just rename everything (mp4, mkv etc) to film.avi. No need to convert anything
