OT: how to Disconnect starter motor solenoid cable

The plastic cover (in circle) comes off ok but can't see how to actually get the cable off the post? Or does that entire black part (to the left of the circle) come off? Pull push twist?

What happens to the cable that connects to the solenoid - does it disappear into a harness, or does it have its own plug and socket? If the latter, maybe the cable is captive and can't be disconnected from the solenoid itself?

There are plenty of VW starter motors for sale on Ebay, all with pretty pictures. Look for one the same as yours.

This from uk.cars.maintenance

"you press in the bit that is to the left lower edge of the circle, then pull, spray it all with wd40 or similar first."
