OT: Honda and the EU

How does a job that has been loosed differ from one which hasn't?

Perhaps you need to tell Honda how to run its business, then. Of course they might just then tell you what to do - and take their factory elsewhere. That's called taking back control.

Why would any country put a tariff on its exports?

Of course not. Yet another false promise many voted leave on.

Do yuo know any UK manufacturers that you talk to regually for them to consider you to be worth telling of their plans.

There was programme on TV last night about food waste, talking about pototoes and it seems a lot of our spuds come from the UK not the EU.

So looks like we'll have enough chips to go around, I wonder if the EU has any form of managment in place to reduce waste, Ah yes eliminate spanish vineyards because it's cheaper than french wine.

and they aren't fishes either.

You could also simply stock enough for proposed production. But that's not how things are done these days.

I'm simply pointing out yet another disadvantage of crashing out of the EU. And you can be sure many many more will come to light if we do. And still waiting to hear of any benefits.

Yeajh I can realy see German car importds being held up at customs.

Yes that is a curious one isn't it, just like my English friend has had his salery increased because the poles are all leaving so they have had to up his pay from £8.50 to £10 per hour after he threatened to leave t oo, even handed in his notice. The poles were getting £10 so he has ta ken over THEIR job.

IIRC Honda intended to stay in the UK. Brexit may make a difference to this though.

Exactly.

No, since there are many jobs that cannot be filled now.

What evidence do you have to support this belief?

Is it my fault that you didn't consider he might before asking why?

Again with the 'end of the world' type rhetoric.

I just (and others have just) suggested that there will be some (predictable) drawbacks that could cost us all. Any advantages we get from leaving the EU seem far less predictable.

Quite, so let's hope we can all affect our democratic rights and decide to go ahead or not, once we know what 'he deal' is eh?

Currently, that seems unlikely to happen, given the "Henry VIII clause".

Right - we're not going to take back control of our borders, then? Just wave EU trucks through on the nod - same as now?

Does that nice Mr Farage know this?

14% of Honda's workforce is from the EU. Very small loss of UK jobs.

This provides the incentive for investment in automation. As it is forecast that robots will create unemployment, fewer immigrants will be a good thing! No one has yet designed an ironing machine that works on a range of clothing, so I won't hold my breath on the robots.

I've had the experience of shipping volume arts from around the world and it's never been a problem unless the ship sinks, when you have to do a rapid air freight exercise. Shipped and custom cleared in less than 24 hours from Taiwan.

Very few businesses operate on a JIT system. Probably less than 0.1% of the UK GDP. It;s a red herring from the Remoaners. Just try getting Yodel to deliver on time!

More Remoaner loser propaganda!

In all probability, we own their factory via taxpayer subsidies. Easy enough to get a Chinese firm to take it over.

As being in the EU is currently costing the UK taxpayers around 1B pounds a week, ( Latest economic appraisals) Why do you want to stay?
