OT ebay query: Is this a sus. international way of sellimg via ebay?

"The Item sold through the Global Shipping Programme. Your label will show the address of the UK Shipping Centre which will handle the international leg of the shipment to you buyer."

There followed the usuaual warning about chargebacks, As I do not effectively know who bought the item this sounds a little boubious to me. The "seller" has 100% rating.

Comments as to the wisdom of allowing such sales to go though appreciated.

Global Shipping Program is the default and overides your own preference. It can be turned off. (My experience is using Turbo Lister, I don't know how it works on the site.) Having said that, before I realised what was happening, I sold a couple of items with the GSP in force and they both went ok. The benefit is you just pay the carriage to the central hub and the buyer pays the overseas element.

What confused me and stopped me offering the GSP was when I had a large, very heavy book (Jane's Military something weird). Ebay estimated the postal cost to their centre as ?2ish, but the weight and size fed into the Royal Mail estimator gave the cheapest post at, I think, somewhere between 12 and 15 pounds,

There didn't seem to be anywhere to correct the ebay postage cost.

In the end I said UK only and used a private carrier, but I did think international bidding might have got a better price.
