Alternatively, I know I have an item, can't find it, have to buy another then find it looking for something else :)
Just a tarp's ok if you can secure the area, and a bit of water doesnt matter, but I presumed neither is the case here.

I suppose when I get rid of a couple of PCs and find somewhere in the lounge cabinet for the crates of sockets and cable offcuts, I'll be able to use the dining table again. Until then there's not really room in the lounge for more than one person at a time, so I don't concern myself with whether it's tidy or not.
