Even the most expensive earphones come with stylish but functionally crappy earbud tips, which don't isolate at all and turn your £200 earbuds into a £5 one.
The price of 3rd party memory foam replacement ear tips goes from as little as £1 to even £50 a pair.
Question: why would I want to spend £50? What do they have that the £1 don't have? Is it just marketing?

At race meeting I occasionally attend I wear foam ear plugs. Even these don't cut out everything. They attenuate the noise well, cut out most of the high frequency but still enable me to hear what is being broadcast on the loud speakers - mainly base.
What is noticeable when I remove the ear plugs is just how loud the general crowd is with 10,000s just talking.
What so magic about memory foam for this application? I made the mistake of buying a couple of memory foam pillows resulting in me waking up with hot ears :)
Presumably that works better to allow them to stay in your ear holes.

I cannot wear ear buds, they fall out, give you a headache and mask out the outside sounds that I need to navigate. OK you can get bone conduction ones but they sound well, naff, and over hear ones that heat your ears up. What I need are open back ones with built in ear lobe coolers. Brian
