Line Tap rather than Henley Block ?

I need to feed an additional consumer unit from my meter tails, but space is very tight. Is it permissable to use :Line Taps rather than Henley Blocks?

Possibly, but they'd have to be in an enclosure with an insulating barrier between L & N to maintain adequate creepage and clearance distance. Wouldn't such an enclosure end up being bigger than the Henley block?

There are SP and DP Henley blocks. Might using two SP ones help with the space problem?

they wouldn't comply with use of a tool to gain access to live parts.

Oh look, the push-on cover on the one in the photo already seems to be broken.

If you can put up a photo of the meter / CU area we can all giggle^Wmake helpful suggestions.

All wot 'e said. FWIW, line taps are/were the biggest single source of trouble within the electricity supply industry.
