I intended to get one of the drills last time they were on, but missed them. They had some in last week, the none hammer drill types so I grabbed one, a 2aH + charger and a 4aH, the last 4aH there. I'm surprised they only seemed to include the charger, with the 2aH battery, so no choice but to get the 2aH.

It does seem to be pretty robust.

I have a Makita hammer, with three batteries, all died some time ago, so I re-celled one of them. Hammer drills aren't usually that effective on masonry, SDS are much better and I have two, so I thought why bother.

No, definitely in my Lidl. Havn't checked websites as to whether there is a more general offer around. They have almost always had batteries and chargers in recent months, and usually one or two devices such as drills. Recently they have mini hedge trimmers and edgers.

My Makita NiCad drills look as though they will last forever. I just buy third party batteries when necessary, and last time I was able to get NiMH which are fine because it's a dual standard charger. The 14.4 volt impact screwdriver is almost more impressive than the 18 volt combi drill. The mains SDS comes out for hard stuff.

Yes, I only actually realised that on looking more closely. And both can be 4AH.

Now I have no excuse not to start collecting other Parkside "bare" tools.
