Is anyone else having problems with news.individual.net?

Thunderbird [version 60.6.1) works well for me on news-individual.net, using Port 119 and default 119.

Newer versions have given me trouble in the past (not with connections, though).

I finding similar with TB on NIN and Giganews (plusnet outsourced)

I find myself hitting the ((.)) "work offline" button in the status bar twice before clicking "get messages"

They re-wrote the NNTP client using javascript from v102

No problems with NIN but I'm using Agent not TB. NIN has always been the most stable service for me.

No problems at all here. I'm using pan.

I'm using T'bird 102.15.1 32 bit and NIN, but no problems here.

This is a server issue. "connection to server was reset" occurs when the remote machine sends a TCP close command.

That implies it has a working TCP/IP socket layer, but has closed it for some reason.

I think it means that the daemon that services the incoming NNTP connections has either died, or has run out of memory or some other resource, I see this with my own servers with ssh shortly after booting

- there is a period when they are partially up, but there is nothing listening (yet) at the other end.

Ditto using tin via local leafnode server which collects the news from NIN.

Thanks for all the replies. I uninstalled/reinstalled Thunderbird a couple of times but still had intermittent performance. After a quick test I've switched to Seamonkey, which seems to work well and is much faster than Thunderbird was.
