The photos of it I saw look remarkably like the extruded aluminium display stands you'd expect to see in an exhibition hall

According to the news just that's what they are.

And why not? No requirement for, say, full polythene tenting as you might for Ebola, you juat need something to hold the curtains for privacy. Also, presumably there are reasonable stocks of these things readily available.

especially as (a) it's an exhibition centre (b) all exhibitions are cancelled.

I am a bit worried how they're going to dust the roof girders though.

And there's not much of a view. It occurred to me earlier perhaps they could print some scenic views on wipeable self-adhesive vinyl and put them on the partitions to make things a bit more cheerful.

The coverage on the TV on (I think) Monday showed quite an impressive set up in London. The basic bedside facilities looked almost normal hospital standard - what looked like proper hospital beds, power, dividers etc. The army are to be congratulated.

I'm pretty sure the plan is that the beds will have access to ventilators (I assume the new ones) but I could be wrong.

I've not seem pictures of other new facilities- at least not ones apparently intended for treatment/intervention as opposed to recouperation having, essentially, recovered.

Reports in the local press in Kent are the NHS have 'cleared the decks' and have quite a low occupancy ready for a 'spike'.

Quite. ;-)

Do you get such luxuries under those circumstances?

I think the idea was that it was left 'open plan' because one Nurse was going to have to monitor several patients simultaneously?

And enough to fit those halls exactly. ;-)

They are getting Kids to do pictures at home apparently. Have you ever watched the folk who put up booths in Exhibition Centres at work? Its fast and furious and I suspect this was the same workforce. Brian

That's nice if you like kids' pictures.

I think I'll add a nice scenic poster to my hospital bag.

If I have to spend 3 weeks looking at some dribbly rainbow in poster paint I'll go potty.

What's a "BUZZ BAR"?

Reply to

Well any ordinary pub, really, once the noise level gets up.

It's a bar that gives you a buzz when you touch the shiny bits.

I.e. a busbar.

You can't expect architects or exhibition fitters to understand electrickisitily.
