Well I think its not going to matter unless you leave them out for weeks at a time. The ones to watch are the plastic ones, they seem to be very variable in quality and some break after just a few uses.

Somewhere I have a photo taken in South America showing a barbed wire fence being used to 'hang out' the washing. All the clothes were just skewered onto the spikes. No need for pegs.

Surely, scoop up the rubble with a dustpan, and vacuum the dust ?
It's actually easier to use the karcher as a picker-upper for the large lumps and drop them in a bucket, and let it take care of whatever fits up the hose itself.
