Glass Screen/Shower Tray Seal

May 25, 2007 4 Replies

Hi,

Am in the process of installing a shower tray and screen in a new bathroom. The screen (6mm glass) sits directly onto the shower tray and the installation details say to seal the two together using mastik. No, I'd rather have a silicone type seal that fits onto the glass and can then be mastiked to the tray (i.e some form of U section silicone profile with a "foot")

e.g

_U_

or

U_

Anyone know where I can get hold of something like that?

Thanks,

Andy

seem rather high for such a basic item, so I'm still looking for something better.

Cic.

I siliconed our Merlyn glass shower cubicle straight to the tray, as advised, with osme considerable trepidation, and it looks and works just fine.

probably have what you need Rick... (The other Rick)

You can get that but frankly the best alternative and the neatest is to use clear silicone with about a 3mm gap.

After its set, use a scalpel to cut it to exact size and peel off the excess.

Its almost invisible.
