OK I've found an old 3' long handled torch that will do. It takes butane. Silly question: can I use butane/propane mix on it? If not I need to keep searching.

The jetting is normally slightly different, I once re-jetted a camping stove so that I could use my existing propane cylinder. But it might be worth trying.
I'd try it if you've got a cylinder which fits to hand.
I think you can still get butane only.
