Fuses - yet again (audio)

What do *you* think Scott?

An audio expert has suggested replacing the plug fuses with 'audiophile' fuses costing £150 each. Is this a transaction that would benefit him more than me?

Sold by RA by any chance, are they?

Have you got a source for this .....

If he is selling the fuses perhaps, but if someone else is selling them I guess the money goes to them.

Has he said anything about what rating these fuses should be. I have some high quality audio tin foil I can sell or swap for a small flat in mayfair, I may consider other places subject to T&Cs

Same as you I suspect :-) They do exist though and I was interested to hear what others might have to say.

Some people will buy them. It improves their listening experience by knowing how much it cost them.

Be careful as I always said that the best music is live and my Dad likes the the Marriage of Fiagro. So I bought tickets and took him to the theatre for his birthday. 3 bloody hours.

My previous posting on similar subject created a lot of commentary :-)

I met a former colleague (now retired). We were chatting and she said she loved her music. 'Not folk, I assume', I said. She replied, 'No, I don't like folk or country.' I said, 'At least there's one good thing to be said about country; at least it's not as bad as folk.' 'Right enough', she replied.

Be grateful it wasn't Wagner's Ring Cycle. After three hours, they'd just be warming up.

Only if you fit them the right way round:

When installing your new fuse, please ensure you test the fuse in both directions as they are directional from left to right. When the fuse is inserted in the correct direction, it is designed to sound more detailed.

I thought that we had a fuse colour code in which 13A is brown. Is that not mandatory?

You don't like the old instruments they play?

Try some Mongolian new stuff:-)

Why do you think that Lou hates me? It's because every time I take her away to meet my friends they always have a different choice of music and she likes the Beatles.

Well that messes up a plug top as the fuses are vertical (in most cases). It's bloody hard work to get both a baritone and a bass through the same fuse when they are vertical.

There are BS standards for fuses. You (and Scott) know what the BS stands for in this case.

Or the singing.

There was a Tom Lehrer song where the words said " the music doesn't matter as long as you're sincere." or words to that effect.

Didn't Simon Bates say, 'Be sincere, even if you don't mean it'?

That was Johnny Cash, but he stole it from Truman.
