Flickering lights

Hi,

I noticed that the lights in my house were flickering occasionally just after I had a new combi boiler fitted.

Turns out my neighbour is seeing the same thing. No matter what I do with the boiler - turn up the thermo stat or turn on the hot water, I can't make it cause the flickering.

But, if the flickering is happening, I can make it stop by turning off the boiler!

It doesn't seem to be making any odd noises at the time the flickering occurs. Just working normally - I think it was heating up the radiatiors at the time.

This is quite hard to investigate as I normally have power saving lights on which don't suffer from the same problem. And I can't make it happen at will.

Any tips?

I probably need to ring the boiler fitter but it'd be nice to get it to happen so I can show him and we'd know when it's fixed. Might be the electrics as I've found a few bits of dodgy wiring in this house.

Thanks.

Peter

I'd get that checked out. I once had a flickering ceiling light upstairs - it turned out to be a loose cable in the attic which subsequently started a major fire.
