Flex termination - External

Need to replace external floodlight ? (first of many to have bulb failures I expect) will change to LED as they fail.

My current floods are physically connected to flexible conduit with 20mm Electroflex Glands .. the male thread screws straight into the wiring box on the back of the lights (nice & neat), electrical connection then being inside the flood.

The flexible conduit is attached to a solid conduit as it goes through the wall of the building. I don?t wish to remove existing conduit or wiring.

Most LED floods seem to be with pre-wired 60cm flex ?.

In which case I would need a way to terminate that flex in a box or similar - with a gland for the flex, and screwing existing flexy conduit into the box. Conduit is in black, anybody know of a neat box or similar I can put on the end .. needs to be IP65

This is what is used:

I need a female thread 2 terminate the flexy conduit gland .... but does the 'push though' seal work OK on flex (no gland)

I have several of these:

be possible to use glands if you wanted but not essential.

Quite a choice here

Wiska boxes I hear most mentioned by electricians, many have threaded entries so your flexible conduit gland can be screwed in. Internally just use Wagos

If you do use CEF check your local trade counter has stock, delivery costs could be quite high if ordering online.

It is what I would have suggested.

And a stuffing/compression gland for the LED flex

I've used these for joining cable to cable for outside lights

Approx 20mm outside diameter x 70mm long.

Being small they can be a bit fiddly to insatall

Larger versions can be obtained from

Ideally you would need a gland to terminate that flexi conduit into a

20mm knockout, but they don't appear to make them any more for that stuff:

Just what you need a 'fiddly' connection at the top of a ladder :-)

Yep ... that's what I used when I installed the lights ... screwed direct into to flood light connection box - nice & neat
