Error 10 concept pro VHSDIR-870EXT outdoor camera

I've got a problem with one of the memorial hall ptz cctv cameras. The camera in question is about 7/8 years old, pre IP model. It regularly "sticks" in one rotation direction and seems to sit pointing to the South West while moving up and down seemingly following it's patrol program vertical instruction. The on screen display shows error 10 and the movement of the camera is accompanied by a squeak. Powering down and restarting causes it to self test and for a short while it rotates per patrol program then sticks again. The concept pro site offers downloadable manuals but only the updated IP version. Does anyone have an old manual or know what the error codes indicate? Or know what sort of job it is to strip down one of these beasts?

Sounds to me like its got a tooth or some teeth missing if its geared, I remember many years ago noting that the pan and tilt seemed to be a kind of glorified version of a table fan mechanism in two planes driven by motors, though I'd suggest yours is mor sophisticated and probably is a servo and has limit switches. I doubt there are teeth missing as the self test on power up includes fully rotating the camera in the horizontal plane and it does work as program for a while after this. I'll probably have to bite the bullet and strip it down for investigation. It might be that a clean and lubricate plus check of slip rings and bushes could solve the problem.
