Enhancing off boom tv signals?

IIRC he said it was rented property and he didn't want to (or wasn't allowed to) mess with the aerial.

Yes some landlords are like that more silly of them too. The ones we have rented out have all aerial facilities inc satellite and cable installed if so wished.

Well if thats the situation then thats more or less that. Is this loft mounted aerial just his or is it feeding a distribution system for other residents?.

If it is just his and he can get access or get someone to help you could try rotating it around to try to receive Whitehawk, you might try a higher gain aerial and/or an amplifier now that it's on beam for Whitehawk and see if the results are good enough. If however this is a system where their is a communal aerial then theres nothing else you can do to that to make it better.

He could complain to the landlord re the lack of available channels and see what the landlord can do about it. That could be a result depending on who the landlord is.

You can now see that as we know more about the problem we can give better advice, 'tho it might not be what he wants to hear;(..

I think it's now known why the original query was originated;!...

Presume he'll ask in uk.local.sussex in a few weeks time ;-)
