Hi Everyone,
I've got a bit of a problem with regard to the earth bonding (equipotential bonding?) in my house. I know that the gas pipe and water pipe are supposed to be bonded to the earth connector on the main distribution board (front of the house)- the gas pipe I can access easily so this has been done, however the water pipe is a different matter.
I've found where the pipe comes out in the kitchen (back of the house), its buried in a concrete floor (checked under the floor boards where it should come into the house and there's no sign of it) the thought of trying to run a wire from the kitchen right across to whole house back to the elec board isn't one I'd relish.
So I'm looking for a bit of advice, I've got a few ideas (they might not be suitable, just examining the possibilities really!) the gas pipe is easily accessed in the kitchen, would it be possible to bond the water pipe to the gas pipe in the kitchen? It doesn't strike me as a very good solution but it is the easiest. The second one is lifting all the carpets (newly laid, girlfriend sorted it out, don't ask) and trying to get the wire under the floor boards and through several walls. Third option is an earth rod outside the kitchen, haven't read much about this so its very much an off the wall idea, the final idea is call in a professional.
Any ideas much appreciated.
Cheers,
Jeff
