I've had a play; all the power comes to the handle. The switch then sends 230V back to the fan motor but there is also a PCB with resistors, diodes and capacitors in front of the switch. It seems to deliver ~21Vac to the head. I think the head motor/electronics is toast but I cannot touch that because I recently bought it and the seller will take it back.
