This is sort of a follow up.
I'm using a DVI/PS2 KVM switch between my two computers. Works beautifully. Reason for the PS2 is one of the computers is an old Acorn RPC which uses PS2 only. It has a aftermarket video card which does DVI.
What I want to do is run a feed to a second monitor - actually an 'HD ready' TV with HDMI input. The TV handbook says max VESA 1280 x 768 at
48.1 kHz/60Hz - but referring to its VGA input.
I purchased from Ebay a DVI to DVI splitter with an HDMI output. Looking more closely ;-) it does say DVI-D. Just inserting it between cable and monitor stops the monitor working. It shows no input. The KVM switch says DVI-D/DVI-A. It came with input cables - the output cable from it to the monitor came with the monitor, and is a DVI-D single link.
I'm confused. ;-)
