Dick Strawbridge: Chateau cavity issue

Just watching Dick Strawbridge trying to put pipes through walls in his Chateau and being defeated by rubble filled cavity walls with the rubble jamming the core drill.

Would this work: Drill smaller hole into cavity and inject liquid plaster of paris. When set, drill larger cored hole.

No, do it the old way. Take a piece of steel pipe, hacksaw one end to a saw tooth shape. Then using a 6lb club hammer drive it through the wall, twisting it as you go through. Retooth as necessary. Takes a few hours to get through a 6ft thick wall, but it works! BTDTGTTS.

I can see Dick and his missus splitting up over this project. They've bitten off far more than they can chew with the limited funds they have available and she is already clearly not helping with her daft ideas on what jobs to prioritise.

Wouldn't be the first time! I have to say, I don't have much time for him and switch him off whenever he appears.

They should have built the Hatton Garden vaults out of rubble.

Well, the Vaults aren't to a Current design.

I used to work for a bank and once in a while we had to do 'vault duty' to lock and unlock the vault. We were told that the inner walls were filled with rubble for just this reason.

I find him pretty irritating too.
