It looks like some laws of physics are being challenged.

X--------X P=peg into ground ? / \ X=major stress point, being pulled downwards. P/ \P

The "posts" are pretty flimsy looking. Those posts will determine what kind of force you can use for keeping cloth to structure.

X--------X P=peg into ground ? /| |\ X=major stress point, being pulled downwards. P/ | | \P

How does the wire in the center, feed into the tarp ? Is there a tube in the tarp for the wire ? Is the tarp itself the only strength member across the center ?

You could loosely fit the side guys first, then pull the center taut while your assistant holds the far X point vertical. It won't go up unless the center pole is vertical as you tighten it. Once the central line is reasonably loaded, the far pole should stay vertical on its own. Because the side guys provide some stability as their lines come tight. This requires some maths with the hand calculator, to figure out where the pegs for the sides should go with respect to the centerline.

End X View /|\ Figure out a good angle for side guys / | \ and make a mark on the ground with respect P/ | \P to centerline, as to where the pegs should go.

By rigging wire for side guys first, that eliminates needing two more assistants. Just you and one assistant should be able to put it up. Then you work on tightening the guys without tearing any fabric.

The far pole (at far "X"), won't stay put until there is some tension on the centerline.

If the guys were right at the X (which they aren't), then the far end could have stayed upright by itself. If there were a total of eight side guys, four on fabric, four at the X points, one person could have put it together. Maybe. With the tiedown points distributed as they are, I think you'll need one assistant during the raising stage.

Ah, someone has purchased it from Lidl and put it on Ebay at twice the price - and charged another £7 for postage

I think you should make a video of you setting it up. Like the Youtube guy. Then... throw in in the skip.

It can't be that hard to do.

So it blows around in the breeze a bit.

When I was a kid, I made a kite that was 12 feet high and 9 feet wide. Sort of the size of your project. You don't have to worry - it takes a

30MPH wind to get something like that off the ground.

But once it gets going (and I did get it airborne), look out :-)

I bet the sales invoice is like war and peace with such a long product description. I find it odd that with a whole world of hams to talk to, he posts his problems here. Brian

I'm not sure if he's just a troll., the meds he is on are affecting his brain or that he's just naturally stupid?

And this is someone traditionally used to rigging long wire aerials etc?

If you somewhere to open the sail out would be obvious to a child how it would go up.

With his brain, it would be.

The best thing for all of us would be if he left the shade on the ground and got in the skip himself (if he could actually manage that on his own).

For many here it would be.

If you are too stupid to cope with something so simple, at least give it to the local charity shop or a neighbour.

It looks like the flysheet? that would be used to cover a proper tent and provide additional protection from solar gain or rain.

Bash the four pegs in to the ground that hold out the flaps on each side, lay out cover and attach to those 4 pegs, then insert each post in turn and push up to tension the canvas/whatever and fix that pole to its peg. Repeat other side. Rather obvious to me.

Failing that wait for bob-a-job week and get the experts to do it.

Invert the skip and support on four corner posts. Better.

Because? (Other than you are a stupid tw*t troll etc)?

Or did you spoil it with a uncontrolled 'dirty-protest' in your anger of it being rated as 'Suitable for 5+'?

Ah, so when you said it was " ...going into the skip today..", that's what you call yer Yank Tank?

It's hardly a challenge, especially with a helper. You do mention you have a wife but is that more Crazy Jim talk for something that looks, can be positioned and dressed like a woman but is actually made of (not just enhanced with) silicone?

Yes, he has a wife.

That's what keeps him out of trouble.

She is the one who'll be bringing him back when he flies away on his Crivit.

Unless you have seen her yourself, remember it's 'Crazy Jim' so anything is possible.

If she keeps him occupied somehow she might, ideally away from the keyboard.

I believe they are quite heavy so if he's got her 'holding' one corner, he should be ok.

But at least he / she is real and alive.

(But well done for snipping, proving you can do it when it suits you, and you really are just a Troll).
