Within 2 hours drive of 75% of the country? That's quite a bold claim for Coventry. I suppose it just might be 2 hours drive for 75% of the English population at 3 am on a Sunday.

I made the the same point earlier to someone else:-)

Most of the Welsh population are well within of 2 hours driving to Coventry.

Only if they fly in a straight line - or if they must use the roads, live right on the Welsh border. Have YOU ever tried driving on Welsh roads? Most of their arterial and main roads are almost like country lanes (bloody hell they are country lanes above the M4 and A449 routes).

but "most of the Welsh population" are very close to the M4,

Yes. But as Charles said, 75% of the population are not driving those routes. Swansea, Cardiff, Newport and Wrexham probably have about 75% of the population of Wales.

On a good day I can get from Barnsley to Perranporth in 3 and a half hours. However I would normally consider Barnsley to Bristol a three hour jouney unless at rush hour or on a swapover weekend.

Just take the 75% with a pinch of salt:-)

Ah, I woundered which day people were going.

I hope so. Still clear in my diary, although I missed the last meetup when something overran at work, and the one before that was when Andy Hall was still with us, so quite a while back.

Throw a sick day. Most of our apprentices do:-)

And congratulations on getting the job.

When was the last one? And where? And was Geoff pissed?

I thought it was you and TMH and some others, when you were working down south, which I intended to go to, but I missed it in the end. I don't know if Geoff was there.

I have not actually been to a meet. I offered to meet up for a pint when I was working in London, and I met THM for breakfast when working in Kent (called in to see Geoff at work on the way home).

And the next time I am that way out I will be calling in to try out Arfas Burger Bar. That's just so I can eat:-)

My ticket turned up in the post this morning, which was a bit of a surprise as they'd already emailed it to me.

Located within the M25 Sandown Park is only 25 minutes by train from London Waterloo or 15 miles from south west London. Use the postcode KT10 9AJ on SatNav systems.

Is that within

2 hours drive of 75% of London?

and only 10 miles from J10 of the M25. However "within a 2 hours drive" depends on rather a lot of outside factors.

My ticket arrived some time over the last 3 days.

If you are going then please email me so we can swap mobile phone nos and you can call me etc when you arrive there.

It's looking more and more likely that I will be in London that day.

I have been told subbies don't get holidays. We are two electricians down (one has left to become a teacher and the other has broken his leg)

What about the Friday? At the moment, I can still do either day.

I'll find out in the morning. We need to clear things up at work. I need to know where I stand.

I was too busy working to get back to the unit today. A 13 hour shift but I did 16 hours worth of work.
