I have a 25 gallon tank in an attic room (at least I think it's 25 gallon -- it says "25/40 gallon" on it). Because of the excessive noise of the old ball valve I replaced it with a wonderfully quiet Torbeck valve. It works fine except that occasionally the HW supply to the bath splutters to a halt. I guess this is because the water tank in the attic has emptied because it isn't re-filling quickly enough.
Two possible remedies I can think of:
- Put a noisy ball valve back in, but somehow quieten it down (not sure how though), or
- Add a 2nd Torbeck valve and have two inlets to the water tank.
BTW the water tank feeds only the hot water. We have mains cold water to everything in the house.
Anyone got any recommendations?
