Castors

Any chance of using an M8 or M10 castor with a thread reducer and 6mm studding?

If the castors have a large enough flat plate that there are no lateral forces on the stud, might it be possible to remove the 8 or 10mm stud and replace it with a 6mm bolt with a 6mm bolt with either a 8mm outside diameter washer or a collar turned on the lower part of the head so the latter is thinner?

Speakers should not be sat on rubber ideally.

The problem is that there used to be a company called Flexo who made many many forms of castors and where I used to work bought some with m6 studs, I'm sure, but they were, shall we say not really very pretty to look at.

I actually have a set of spikes for them (came with the speakers), but I think they're stupid, and I want to be able to move the speakers about, and they're too heavy/bulky to lift.

Now, *there's* an idea. Got to be better than the carpet offcuts I presently have under the bosses to prevent damage to the floor.
