Car radio code - ? Featured

I had to replace the battery on my 2013 Skoda Yeti. (In truth: I had to pay my local garage to fit my new battery: a job I used to do myself for about 50 years!.)

The radio has now lost its code, and nobody (not me, not any previous owner) has written it down anywhere. (Judging by my experience, nobody will have ever discovered it, to write it down!).

I can only obtain it by enquiring of a Skoda Main Dealer, and they will make a "Service Charge". Before I approach them: I hear that there are people on (e.g.) Ebay who can do this: has anyone ever tried any of these out?

Cheers John

PS re my OVO Smartmeter problems, posted a couple of days ago ... I am awaiting developments. They told me (via Chat) that they would do some kind of reset, and "you may see your IHD refresh in the next 24 hours..." (24 hours? I thought these things were smart! Like: digital! i.e. Instant!

Get the serial number off the radio.

Then find a Skoa forum/FB group/whatever and ask. I'm in a Ford S-Max group and they help out all the time.

Cheers Bob -- I'll try that!
