Bosch WFS4030 Washing Machine Problem

You probably have a worn out brush in the motor. Very straightforward to remove the motor and check the brushes. New brushes come with the whole end of the motor. Pattern about 50 quid genuine 85

New brushes (genuine) for my Hotpoint are a shade over a fiver.

I know, I know. The difference is though that I have to look in the door to know if the Bosch is running. You have to go out while it washes.

I used to have hotpoint and indesit washers. The Bosch is a massive improvement. In seven years I have replaced the brushes (because one only had prematurely worn out) and I also replaced the main tub bearings because I could feel a tiny bit of play and there were some dirty marks on the washing (I am not convinced they were causing that though) The tub bearings were so quick and easy to change it was a revelation compared to any make I had done before and no chance of drum leaks etc. like Hotpoint machines etc.

yes the bits are dear but rarely needed and the machine is sooooo quiet !

It is like the difference between a fiesta and a Lexus, both are transport and the bits for one are sometimes cheaper than the other, but which is nicer to use?

Well, I've not done badly. Ten years; one cable tie, one set of bearings and one set of brushes. And it gets used a LOT....

-motor brushes gone - though youd likely see other symptoms before this point There are other things it can be too, but these are the most likely. Belt replacement is easy diy job, just unplug and discharge the mains filter to avoid getting a bite.

you need to remove your motor to get to the brushes? Unusual. £50 for non original brushes??
