Borescopes

Does anyone know where I could purchase (other than ebay) a cheap borescope suitable for building trade work. Or, on the other hand, has anyone got one they want to sell?

Cheers

Mil-surplus. Try Anchor in Ripley / Nottingham.

A useful alternative, though not quite as flexible, is a webcam. There are many USB webcams that'll fit through a 1" hole. You do need to add a light source.

Be a bit careful Xavier. The later fibreoptic scopes are rather delicate and may not be suitable for site work. You may find that a solid tube, mirror reflection type would work good enough to do the job you have. They are much more reliable although they don't "turn corners" like the fibreoptics.

Yes, you're absolutely correct. That's the type I was after but the only ones remotely affordable seem to be on ebay and they're flexible types.

Thanks for the input anyway. Thanks too Andy, will check out that 'surplus' place today

The main problem with the flex ones are broken optical strands that give small "blackouts" in random views. If I had the need for one I would go for a larger diameter as a few breaks have less impact on the view. Good luck
