BoilerJuice is useful simply as a bargaining tool

Couple of times now I've bargained down an oil quote based on BoilerJuice's price, even if not intending to order from BoilerJuice.

I just saved myself £12 by doing so. Just tell whoever your local supplier is what the BoilerJuice price is. It will almost for definite be lower than what the local supplier quotes. My local supplier just matched it! I was on hold for a good minute, so she must have gone to check the BoilerJuice web site.

I reckon it may well be cheaper now to have the oil heating on regularly than oil-filled radiators occasionally, such is the exorbitant price of electricity since the latest price hikes and due to the drop in rgw cost of heating oil.

I just used £4.80 on 36 units of leccky in two days and that was mainly for heating only a couple of rooms using the oil rads, plus minimal cooking, hoovering and washing machine.

I usually ring half a dozen suppliers and then take the best price. Boiler juice were never so good after they were taken over by some oil supplier.

I filled up a couple of months ago, now I am wondering if I did the best thing, after seeing petrol prices drop.

I do hope that the Iranians are allowed to sell their oil, despite the wishes of the Israelis.

Aren't you the bloke who won't change to LED lighting, because of the expense of the lamps, that will cover their cost in less than two years, yet is quite happy to use energy-intensive halogen lights instead until LED prices drop?

That's thowing away far more than £12.

Why is my spam alarm sounding?

Oh I guess it's beacuse *every* time over the last four years BJ have been at least 2p/l more expensive than our local supplier, ocassionally 10p/l more.

On what quantity? What was the ex VAT p/l price, we'll be needing some in the next month or so, it's nice to have a ball park current price.

Only 36 over two days? Pah! 150 over two days here but that does include the storeage heaters, they account for about 100 units.

Not in South Lincs. BJ is always cheaper than any local supplier.

It was exactly 56p a litre at around 9:30am today. Since then it's dropped to 55.82.

That's for my postcode, of course. Yours may be a different price.

current

1700 ish for 1000l (2000l) 55.50 (54.95) to 59.00 (59.20) dependant on delivery time.

I normally buy 2000l and if I ordered today the local company would deliver by Friday at the latest, probably Thursday and as I said beat BJ's best price (delivery on/before 10 Dec) by at least 2p/l.

Our local company is a true independant unlike most ofther companies these days that are all owned by GB Oils.

Well, you're going to get a lower price by ordering such a huge amount, namely 2000 litres is 4x what I usually order (and can afford).
