That is so impressive - did they give you loads of money as well?

Why not share with us how you abused the BP facilities - liberated items from them - and what happened after some of the URC people bought a BP share each and attended the BP AGM.

That will be much more interesting.

I hope you bought Croda shares years ago, because they have been a much better investment then BP.

One that I missed even though the (old) Observer, when Heather Connon was a journo, tipped them.

Yes, I bought a load in 1976 and sold them for a packet when I left them in 1985. Not a patch on KC shares though which went from £0.55 on launch to £17-50 just before the dotcom bubble burst in 2000.

The Dotcom was an aberation. even Cable & Wireless shares were about £16 but by 2003 they were down to 40p.

Croda shares just seem to go up and up. £2 in 1999 now £31.70. Are you sure you bought them in 1976 ?. They don't seem to have been listed before 1999. Was Croda spun off from a larger household name ?.

I left in 1985 and we bought shares at £0.70 at some point in the 1970 's.

I've seen that. It only goes back to July 1988. Where are the historical prices for 1976 to 1988 ?.
