artex

good afternoon folks,a while ago when i was having trouble skimming with board finish it was suggested i might find using artex more forgiving,i have bought a small bag and was wondering do i have to do two coats like board finish? and float over as it dries, thanks in advance

Single coat... Worked for me

The nice thing about Artex is that you can apply very thin coats and play around with the finish for longer than you can with plaster.

Throw it away immediately. Artex is horrible stuff and a real pain to remove.

Don't be silly. It's just halfway between a plaster and a filler, and therefore much easier for the amateur, especially on ceilings. It doesn't form swirls and stipples unless you force it to.
