Anyone else woken up an hour early?

I always wake up several hours early.

But if you always wake up several hours early, surely you will never sleep. Otherwise, you routinely don't need much sleep.

No but my so called auto summer/winter clocks have all not updated, so I bet their programming has the week wrong, as the US goes next week. Brian

Oh dear, you mistakenly thought you were joking. Early implies relative to before the usual or expected time in normal English. Your version may vary.

Oh dear, I'm not doing Christmas this year, or maybe I'll do it in June instead. After all Firework night has started in the middle of last week so it will probably go on for a month. If we are watching on demand TV, then why not on demand festivals as well?

my lidaldi DCF77 clock hadn't updated, I prodded its "sync" button and that didn't help, so I guess I'll stick it in the windowsill for an hour.

The oven and microwave will need manually changing as always, I run a cron script at 3am every night to sync the heating programmers as their clocks tend to drift, so that sorts out summer/winter also.

I think everything else looks after itself nowadays.

Nice to have some sunlight in the morning for a few weeks, but its all doom and gloom in the evenings ...

That can only be a left brainer interpretation, missing the context and 'other meanings' as usual.

See, what you will obviously miss is much meaning can be put into something by what's not said. You can only read what's on the lines, not what's between them.

That was probably for Diwali, which is today (for 2019).

Most of our clocks are radio or Internet / network synchronised so were right this morning. One portable Clock / alarm / Int/Ext thermometer should be radio but doesn't seem to work.

It's funny watching the radio analogue display clocks doing their thing, either 'accelerating to go forward the extra hour or (I think) waiting for an hour before continuing.

We have a backwards clock in the bathroom (both the dial and the mech are 'anticlockwise') and that needs re-setting manually. I think you can get reverse action and radio mechanisms so I might upgrade that one as well. ;-)

I'm not sure how easy it is for people not familiar with it to read, but we all seem to read it easily.

Why does a microwave need to show the current time? I think that things that show the time needlessly are really annoying. I've got a (landline) telephone that has a time display: useful to show the length of a call, but the clock that shows the current time has to be reset or it will (annoyingly) look wrong.

My pre-1986[1] microwave oven the doesn't have any features to creep but the only reason I set the <flash>00:00</flash> main oven clock is that I find the sight of the <flash>00:00</flash> boodly annoying.
