I can cause to need a short length of SWA cable today, and I was looking around to see where it's possible to get such a thing on the weekend without having to buy a whole roll.
B&Q don't do cut cable any more (found a thread from here 20 years ago discussing the change in policy) SF and TS don't Wickes don't seem to I don't think Homebase is a thing any more
I do have a local branch of TLC, but they're 9am-1pm Saturdays, closed Sundays and Bank Holidays. Most other distributors (CEF) are the same. We did have a branch of QVS but the company seems to have expired.
Of course there is Mr Amazon, but there is not much in the way of short pre-cut lengths available on Prime next day. I could certainly get it from an ebay seller but it'll take the best part of a week.
Any other suggestions, apart from a local hardware store (the one we have is closed Sundays/BHs)?
