Every few days on power up I get a blue screen with a list of options, and message from Microsoft saying "It's time to finish setting up your computer". None of the options are of any interest to me and there is no option to say "NO", just "Remind me in 3 days".
Is there something I can do to curtail this screen ?.
I upgraded from Win 7 /32 PRO to Win10/32 Pro in january.

Proceed one step further, without actually setting up anything then press cancel, should go away (until the next 21H2 upgrade at least)

Hit Start, the settings cog, then System, then Notifications & Actions.
Scroll to the bottom, turn off the bottom three options under the "notifications" section.
Well, Have you checked there are not a lot of awaiting updates in the system? This is the normal reason. If you set download later or download and in stall later, sooner or later you start getting more and more nags about it. It will take a long time though, if you have a lot. Is there any reason why you went 32bit, not 64 bit?
Personally I don't like Windows 10 Too many things to turn off and disable and too much nanny type alerts that are really stupid as if you were a moron. Maybe it should have been called Windows 7 Moron edition instead. This makes Windows 11 into the deluxe Moron edition.
It has to be made for Goldfish brains, since apparently it is like looking at Windows through the goldfish bowl. grin. Brian
The longer you leave it though, the more it will need to update when you allow it to. You can roll back if it mucks things up. Brian

The dialog in question, fills the screen to the exclusion of whatever you want to do, and it prompts for you to finish setting up the things that benefit Microsoft.

Remind me in three days
The second item then, is blatant advertising for Office 365. Which is a subscription based thing, costing money every year. When LibreOffice for Win (such as it is), does that for free.
That dialog should have a tick box to "Don't show me this again". Yet, it does not.

This screen isn't about updates though, it's about "encouraging" you to have a microsoft account, signing up for reward points and turning on cortana etc.

I still use applications that are 32 bit only, and since the Motherboard and CPU are 10 years old with 4 GB ram I didn't see the point of going up to 64 bits. This would have required nuking the whole setup and installing the 64 bit image on the Win 7 Pro OEM DVD and then upgrading to Win10. This is the only PC I have and I use it for online banking etc and I just don't want any possibility of it all going pear-shaped.
