Ancient MFI kitchen edging strip?

Jan 23, 2006 2 Replies

Hi all,

Does anyone have any ideas where I might be able to get hold of any kitchen 'edging strip'. The stuff basically covers the right-angled join between kitchen worktop and wall and is a plastic strip clipped onto a plastic runner which is nailed onto the worktop. MFI don't do it anymore, apparently, and I'm looking for 5 metres or so in a kind of antique pine colour.

I'd be really grateful for any ideas, best wishes,

I know what you mean, but that stuff was really pretty horrible to look at. Like those foul metal strips which get put between two butting worktops in a corner, instead of a properly made joint... Can't you just use a neat bead of silicone sealant instead?

I agree it too heavy looking to go all around the kitchen. However as a kind of splash-back behind a sink, a particularly wet area, I think it looks OK.

I'm pretty sure it's still available from the usual DIY culprits.
