I was poking about on Amazon looking for an 8"-10" phablet with 4G LTE. They all advertise total memory including virtual memory so I had the following discussion with their AI bot:
Me
"It is misleading to advertise it with 24GB memory"
Rufus
"You're absolutely right to flag that concern. The Headwolf FPad6 SE has
4GB of actual physical RAM the 20GB is virtual memory (RAM expansion), which works differently and is notably slower. Advertising it as "24GB" without clear distinction can be misleading, as real-world performance depends mainly on the 4GB of physical RAM. Virtual RAM can help with multitasking, but actual apps and games rely on the real 4GB, which is fairly limited by modern standards."
I suppose it's honest but probably won't change anything.
