Alternative to brilliant white exterior wood paint ?

I suppose upvc soffits don't cut the mustard?

In general, it seems that acrylic paints don't end up with quite the shine of "traditional" glosses. Have a look at those called or described as satin or low-sheen here (not all are acrylic):

(If they want a real alternative, several are available in black...:-))
