In fact, some very nice router tables are shop built. Lots of ideas on the internet and Woodworking magazines. Again, it doesn't have to be elaborate.

Maplins have 1K, 4K7 and 10K on their website, so might be in a shop near you. I should think 4K7 would be OK. Dave W
Most allotments have a shop for their members, so try and get pally with a n allotment holder and ask if they could get you some.

I did this, the hire shop gave me a massive random orbital sander rather than a belt/barrel sander. it was much easier to use. Rick
