On Tue, 07 Feb 2023 08:21:37 +1100, Jethro_uk Apple Pay and Google Pay still work fine. Or discover that others have had the same problem with Barclays and see their fix works fine.

Apple ID

Apple ID is a totally different thing all together. I notice the problems I've been having with Apple pay after changing a debit card have been fixed in the latest IOS. I keep forgetting the Apple ID, or finding a file with the old one in it.

Profiteering or not.?

Apple could set prices for Apple products, while other manufacturers set prices for their own products. There need be no correlation between the prices set by different manufacturers.

OT - digital wallet on phone not tied to credite/debit card? Limited amount?

Well I only know about Apple pay, but the point is without your access details you cannot see the debit or credit card vital bits like the code from the reverse side etc.
