general recommendation question : lowara-xylem vs grunfos vs wilo vs whichever else (2023 Update)

I have to buy a circulator pump for hot water (T max 80-90),

7-8 m head (lift), 1 m3/h flow, max power consumptio in the range 60-80 W. Duty cycle very heavy (I mean many hours of uninterrupted work). The price is not the most relevant aspect, I need sth reliable and durable.

Which firm would you recommend in general ? If you happen to know the specifications also : which models ?

Tnx in advance for any suggestion

I may only really give general recommendations in this case, you’re right ...

When it comes to selecting a circulator pump for hot water, it's important to consider factors such as flow rate, head (lift), power consumption, and duty cycle. You've mentioned that you need a pump with a flow rate of 1 m3/h, a head of 7-8 m, and a maximum power consumption of 60-80 W, with a heavy duty cycle. Based on your requirements, I would recommend considering the following brands:

  1. Lowara-Xylem - They offer a wide range of circulator pumps that are suitable for hot water systems with heavy duty cycles. Their e-SV series is well-suited for this application and they are known for their reliability and durability.

  2. Grundfos - They offer a variety of circulator pumps that can handle heavy duty cycles and are known for their durability and efficiency. The ALPHA1, MAGNA1 and UPS series are known to be suitable for this kind of applications.

  1. Wilo - They offer a wide range of circulator pumps for hot water systems, their Star-Z NOVA and Star-Z NOVAplus series are suitable for heavy duty cycles and are known for their reliability and durability. All of these brands have a wide range of models to choose from, and it's always best to consult with a professional plumber or a supplier to ensure that you select the pump that's best suited for your specific application.

Please also keep in mind that the price is not the most relevant aspect, but it's important to check the warranty and after-sales service of the brand you choose, as well as the availability of spare parts in your area.   Based on the information you provided, I may recommend the following models for heavy-duty hot water circulator pumps:
  1. Lowara-Xylem: e-SV series, Model e-SV 8-20/22.
  2. Grundfos: ALPHA1, MAGNA1 and UPS series, Model ALPHA1 L 25-60 or MAGNA1 32-120F or UPS 15-50/60.
  3. Wilo: Star-Z NOVA and Star-Z NOVAplus series, Model Star-Z NOVAplus 25/6.

Please keep in mind that these are just examples of models that may be suitable for your application, and it's always best to consult with a professional plumber or supplier to ensure that you select the pump that's best suited for your specific system. They will consider other factors such as the size of the pipe, the type of the system, the electricity supply and the specific requirements of the building.

It's also important to note that these models are just examples, other models from these brands may also be suitable for your application, you should consult the manufacturer's product data sheet for more information about the technical specifications of these models, such as head, flow rate and power consumption, and compare it with your requirements
