Hi,

It is always a good idea to insulate your copper pipes whenever you are putting them underground or on the outside of your home. This is especially true if you are running your hot water copper lines on the outside of your house. You don't want your water heater to work overtime. Make sure you choose a quality product to insulate with. There are several quality foam products on the market that you can find at most of your popular hardware stores. Your larger stores such as Orchard Supply and Home Depot carry some very good insulation. Hope this answers your question.

Thank you
