I'm active on a couple of car forums. Most remote starters have a run time limit of 10 minutes. You'd be amazed at how many people complain it is not long enough. Some complain they can't turn on the heated seats.
Sure, I use the remote too, but 5 minutes is plenty.
I had a dipstick heater at one time. It's not clear if it did much good.
The problem with diesel is gelling. Stations in the frigid zones used to have #1 diesel but most have gone to winter blends now. Power Service works
