I agree. The answer may be negligence.
I agree. I believe that I stated that earlier.
Yes, it happened on his watch and he is responsible, along with several others. He says, she says. "This is a developing story..."

NM is an assessed damages state so I imagine all of them will be named in a "joint and several" action and they may all be chipping in depending on how much the jury assesses liability. OTOH there may just be a large, back room, settlement and this just goes away. That is probably more likely. The only question is whether the SF DA wants to proceed. My guess, not. There is too much movie money involved at the state level.
Possibly because the next chamber was empty and he heard only "click." ;-)
They usually Foley in the dialog and sound effects in post production anyway.
I wouldn't bet on that. The old Hollywood saying is there is no such thing as bad publicity. This may bring people in to watch a movie they would otherwise not have any interest in at all. (mostly streaming no doubt) If it bleeds it leads.
Was it two shots, or only one shot that went through the first one and then lodged in the second ?
I believe that the reference to two shots is an incident that apparently occurred prior to the fateful and tragic event. If you are referring to people who were shot, I have heard reports of only one bullet recovered.
Harrsion Ford can take a rope-line from one jet plane in the air to another. I'll bet you Baldwin can't do that.
Does Baldwin own a gun? If he's been getting death threats from conservatives, something much more likely these days, he might get a gun. If they were even slightly credible, I would.
If one gets threats but it takes days or longer to get a gun license, can you go to a bar in a seedy part of town and find someone who will sell you a gun?
And assuming you do that, when you get your gun license, can you associate that very gun with the license so you're sort of home free?
Yes Hence what I quoted "Baldwin's stunt double accidentally fired two live rounds after being told the gun didn't have any ammunition".
That was a week before the fatal incompetence. The question would be why they didn't scour that whole production lot to assure there were no more live rounds on the set. Every round in the studio armory should have been checked at the bare minimum.
There is still the remote possibility those rounds were planted there for some insidious reason and that is certainly murder. Maybe that is why the local cops are holding the option open.
How come they don't have movies where the captain dies, the ship is about to sink, and the cabin boy calls out, Does anyone know how to navigate And someone takes the wheel and saves all the passengers.
This would be a great plot.
???
We all have. We also have seen great movies with any or all of guns, sex, and/or cussing.
Real life has sex and cussing (not guns, so much). So do movies.
Cindy Hamilton
His role as producer was likely receiving a percentage of the (now nonexistent) profits. The move had 13 people with producer in their title. Why not assert that one of them is ultimately responsible.
"Line producers are at the heart of a production, hiring the crew, allocating the money and making sure the filming is done safely, creatively, on budget and on time. They are typically the most senior member of the production team, second only to the producers."
I think you want to go after Gabrielle Pickle, even though Baldwin is the big name:
Cindy Hamilton
Basic physics says there has to be some recoil from a blank.
So obviously you don't have a cite that Baldwin knew there were live rounds on the set. Now how about a credible cite that says that there was target shooting going on during breaks? I've heard some snippets about some target shooting having gone on at some time, but not that it was during breaks in shooting, eg it could have been after shooting ended, when Baldwin wasn't there. And the armorer released a statement saying that she was unaware of any such shooting going on, of any unauthorized use of the guns. It's also entirely possible that some radical lib hating nut put a live round in that gun deliberately so that this would happen to Baldwin.
Being listed as producer doesn't determine who gets the most money. Did Baldwin put up all the money to make it? Any money at all? As I understand it, it's complicated as to how the profits are split. I agree Baldwin would likely make a lot of money from the movie, whether successful or not, but it's not clear that he would make the most money.
That isn't clear either, starting with if it did happen, who did it, how did they do it, did Baldwin know about it, etc. And even if that was happening, it's still difficult to figure out how a live round wound up in the gun. Like if they left a live round in it, then it should have been easily found by the armorer when preparing the gun. I'm beginning to wonder if this was done deliberately, perhaps by some lib hating nut. Or by a pissed off employee. Maybe not figuring it would result in death or injury, but would be big incident that would make Baldwin look bad, show that the set was unsafe, etc.
The gun laws vary widely from state to state. But in NJ, if you bought a pistol in a bar illegally, it's illegal and there is no way to make it legal. Getting a permit to buy a pistol after the fact won't solve it, you'd only be committing more crimes. And getting a permit to carry, which is what someone like Baldwin would need, is virtually impossible. Though with Baldwin being a celebrity and a Democrat, he might have a shot at that, but not you or I. He'd also have the problem with all his travle of states and cities having differing laws on whether you can carry when you're in that jurisdiction. Now that I'm thinking about it, I wonder what bodyguards who have carry permits have to do with all the places they go to? There probably is some website with the info for all the various places and what you have to do to be legal.
Agree. That's the first time I heard this. If that's true, then it really changes the situation going into this dramatically. That should have resulted in exactly what you say, a thorough analysis of how it happened, figuring out who was responsible, possibly firing people and other steps to make sure it could not happen again. Certainly those questions will be asked of all involved, including Baldwin, what he knew about this, what he did, etc.
The other question is how does the above square with the statement released by the armorer, where she said she was unaware of any live ammo being on the set?
I'm beginning to think it may not be that remote. Adding to the mix, I understand the assistant director, who handed the gun to Baldwin stated that after the fatal incident, he took the gun to the armorer, they opened it and it had several blanks plus one empty round. How did that happen? If it was all live rounds from some prior target shooting, I can see that. But how did a mix get in there? The armorer made a mistake? Seems unlikely, doesn't it? If you go to load it, you would see that there was still one round in it, but I suppose if you're an imbecile you could just assume it's a blank and then just put the rest of the blanks in. Or she could have loaded it with blanks and someone switched one out. Which gets back to what happened the week before. Did they ever find out for sure how those live rounds got in the gun? Suppose they couldn't? Then it's possible both incidents were deliberate.
There is some recoil from a blank. However not much compaired to a live round. There is maybe 20 grains of powder in a handgun. The bullet will weigh from 150 to 250 grains depending on the gun. So you are looking at around 10 times the recoil based on just the mass ejected from the gun not counting on the velocity of the gas coming from the barrel.
The recoil of a 22 caliber long rifle round in a handgun is not very much and is much more than a blank. Anyone could tell the difference.
What makes you think the captain navigates the ship? These days it is just punching up the numbers in the GPS chart plotter anyway. If that crapped out the chances of finding someone who really knows how to use a sextant is probably nil and they might not even have the current almanac on board. (the book that tells you where the stars are supposed to be)
As Harry T said "the buck stops here".
When a ship sinks they blame the captain even if the fire was started by a cook.
